UV-LED OFFSET SERIES INK
Energy-efficient LED-UV offset ink with instant cure and low heat exposure
| Document: TDS-UV-LED-EN | Revision: 01 | Issue date: 01 Aug 2026 |
| Product type: Energy-curable offset printing ink | Status: Typical technical data | Brand: FORDIA |
FORDIA UV-LED is formulated for offset presses equipped with LED-UV curing. The series is optimized for rapid polymerization under common LED wavelengths, supporting immediate handling, low heat input and stable printing on paper, board and approved non-absorbent substrates.
Recommended applications: Commercial printing, folding cartons, labels, books and promotional materials produced on LED-UV offset presses. Synthetic paper and films must be approved by adhesion and cure trials before production.
Recommended substrates: Coated/uncoated paper, paperboard, selected synthetic paper and pretreated film (trial required)
Recommended equipment: Sheet-fed or suitable web offset presses fitted with 385/395/405 nm LED-UV curing
Available colors: Process Yellow, Process Magenta, Process Cyan, Process Black; spot colors available on request

| Shelf life | 12 months | Unopened original container, recommended storage |
| Process color | Typical solid density* | Lightfastness (Blue Wool)* |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | 1.15-1.30 | 3-5 |
| Magenta | 1.35-1.50 | 4-5 |
| Cyan | 1.45-1.60 | 7-8 |
| Black | 1.60-1.80 | 7-8 |
*Density: coated stock, Status T measurement. Lightfastness is pigment/shade dependent and indicative only.
| Control point | Recommended starting guidance |
|---|---|
| Lamp match | Confirm peak wavelength, irradiance and dose with the LED system supplier and a calibrated radiometer. |
| Ink film | Avoid excessive ink film; heavy coverage may require a higher dose, additional lamp power or lower speed. |
| Dampening | Run minimum stable water and avoid contamination with conventional oil-based ink or wash residues. |
| Cure check | Check surface and through-cure using rub, scratch, tape and odor assessment before finishing. |
| Series-specific note: Cure response depends on lamp wavelength, irradiance, accumulated dose, ink film, color, substrate and press speed. Black, opaque and heavy-coverage areas normally require the most demanding cure setting. | |
Use a wash approved for UV-curable offset inks and compatible with the press rollers, blankets and plate system. Follow the press manufacturer's procedure. Prevent wash and ink residues from entering drains or surface water.
