Technical Data and Application Guide

1. Product Overview

The UV-HC Series uses a UV-reactive formulation, with UV-curable acrylic resin as the primary film-forming component, combined with photoinitiators, reactive diluents, pigments, fillers, and functional additives. The formulation contains no solvents or other volatile raw materials. Designed for conventional UV offset printing, the series balances on-press stability, rapid curing, color performance, substrate adhesion, and cured-film durability.

2. Key Performance Features
  • Stable on-press performance for general UV offset printing production.
  • Rapid curing under suitable UV energy and operating conditions; the cured ink film provides good adhesion, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and flexibility.
  • Bright colors, high color saturation, and good resistance to aging.
  • Contains no petroleum-based solvents and has low volatility. Low-irritation monomers help reduce skin irritation; however, prolonged skin contact should still be avoided.
3. Suitable Substrates and Pretreatment Requirements

Laboratory data covers gold/silver card stock, PET, PVC, and similar substrates. Substrate composition, surface structure, cleanliness, and surface tension all affect actual adhesion. To achieve the performance levels shown below, the substrate should receive appropriate surface treatment, with a recommended surface tension of at least 38 dyne/cm. Adhesion must be verified using the applicable on-site test method before full production.

5. Pressroom Application Guidelines
  • Viscosity adjustment: The formulation has been balanced for key printing properties. If adjustment is required on press, add 1%-3% monomer-resin diluent in small increments and mix thoroughly. Excessive addition may alter the ink's overall performance.
  • Post-press compatibility: If gluing, lamination, or hot foil stamping is planned, first select compatible adhesives, films, and foil-stamping materials and conduct a single-sheet or small-batch trial. Proceed to full production only after the finishing results have been confirmed.
  • Adhesion verification: Because substrate type, surface structure, condition, and surface tension vary, test adhesion using the specified method before production and select the appropriate ink grade based on the results.
  • Pre-production testing: Different printing processes and substrates may produce different results. Complete a suitability trial under actual production parameters before mass production.
